‘WE AREN’T SCARED’
By MICHAEL MIYOBA AFTER flying low in the last three MTN Super League fixtures, High Flying Nkwazi FC seek redemption when they take on runaway league leaders Zesco United in a Week-29 fixture at Sunset Stadium in Lusaka. The lunchtime kick off will see the Ndola giants who have gone nine games without tasting defeat seeking revenge for their 1-0 home defeat to the Police sponsored outfit on January 20. It’s a double mission for the Police outfit which is seeking to complete a double over Zesco United and ending their winning streak which has seen them dominate the MTN Super League with 52 points, 10 points ahead of second-placed Zanaco. And after getting two points from a possible nine from the last three games, Nkwazi’s assistant coach Keegan Phiri said it is a must for the team to get the three points against the league leaders. Phiri declared his charges ready noting that Nkwazi would not fear the Ndola outfit because of their nine-game winning streak. He noted that despite a few players such as Pride Mwansa Rodrick Zimba and Tomas Zulu sidelined with injuries, Nkwazi has other players who are capable of stopping Zesco who are aiming to open a 12-point lead by beating Nkwazi. In the second fixture of the double header at Sunset Stadium, Zanaco will host rejuvenated Kabwe Warriors who are coming from celebrating a 1-0 win over Power Dynamos. Meanwhile, Red Arrows will host Buildcon at Nkoloma Stadium as relegated Kitwe United aim to bounce back from Wednesdays 2-0 defeat to Napsa Stars when they play Forest Rangers at Garden Park in Kitwe. Tomorrow’s Super League action will see Indeni targeting to maintain their perfect run when they host Young Green Eagles at Indeni Sports Complex while Green Eagles will take on Lusaka Dynamos at Independence Stadium in Choma. Green Buffaloes date Lumwana Radiants at Nkoloma Stadium in Lusaka while struggling Prison Leopards will take on Napsa Stars at President Stadium in Kabwe. Power Dynamos and relegation-threatened Nkana will renew their rivalry when they face off in a celebrated Kitwe derby at Arthur Davies Stadium.
