THE FIFA Dispute Resolution Chamber (DRC) has threatened to ban Buildcon FC if the Ndola outfit fails to pay Congolese defender Diego Apanene K220, 000 and US$8,000, plus five percent interest in unpaid allowances.
According to a DRC ruling by a USA Judge Jon Newman and signed by DRC Chief Legal and Compliance Officer Emilio García Silvero, Buildcon FC will be banned from signing both local and international players if the club fails to pay Apanene what is owed to him.
Buildcon FC is expected to pay Apanene his dues within 45 days, as from the notification by the claimant of the relevant bank details to Buildcon as the respondents.
The DRC ruling has directed Buildcon FC to provide evidence of payment of the due amount in accordance with the decision duly translated, if applicable, into one of the official FIFA languages.
“In the event that the amount due, plus interest as established above is not paid by the respondent within 45 days, as from the notification by the claimant of the relevant bank details, the respondent shall be banned from registering any new players, either nationally or internationally, up until the due amount is paid and for the maximum duration of three entire and consecutive registration periods.
“The aforementioned ban mentioned will be lifted immediately and prior to its complete serving, once the due amount is paid,” said Newman in his ruling passed on January 13, 2021.
“In the event that the payable amount as per in this decision is still not paid by the end of the ban of three entire and consecutive registration periods, the present matter shall be submitted, upon request, to the FIFA Disciplinary Committee,” read the ruling.
Apanene who switched fron Nkana to Buildcon during the 2018 season had reported the Ndola club to FIFA for his unpaid allowances for the period between December 2018 and September 2020.
