North-West Chiefs hail Lungu

TRADITIONAL leaders in North-Western Province have hailed President Lungu for visiting the region.Senior Chief Sailunga of Mwinilunga said President Lungu’s visit last week was a clear demonstration of his commitment to ensure that the region was developed.Chief Sailunga said President Lungu had demonstrated love for the people in the area by engaging traditional leaders on various developmental issues.The traditional leader said this in an interview in Mwinilunga district.Meanwhile, Chief Nyakaseya of Ikelenge has called on the people of North-Western Province to support President Lungu’s aspirations to transform the region.The traditional leader said the Head of State had shown unprecedented commitment to developing the province, hence deserved the support of all well-meaning people in the region.Chief Nyakaseya described the engagements with President Lungu on his three-day working visit to the region as fruitful.He expressed optimism that the meetings, the traditional leaders held with the Head of State would yield positive results.On his recent three-day working tour, President Lungu visited six districts and met 11 chiefs and hundreds of village headmen to discuss development issues in North-western province. – ZANIS
