Beer ends marriage

EPHRAIM CEASAR writes@SunzambianA Lusaka woman of John Laing has been dragged to Kanyama Local court for divorce due to her insulting behavior whenever she takes alcohol.Rodrick Musonda, 34, a freelance Garden boy of old Kanyama has sued his wife, Jane Mporokoso, 36, a housewife of John Laing for divorce due to her insults.Facts before the court were that the two got married in 2019 and trouble started when Mporokoso lost a child at birth and she resorted to heavy drinking which leads to insulting her husband.Musonda told the court that he loved his wife till she started drinking as a way of grieving for her late child and that nowadays he doesn’t know who she is anymore.“Mukazi wanga wachilamo kuni tukana lyonse akamwa moba, ine sini kuwamwa, niziba mwana wathu ana mwalila but a year yakwana manje still akali kulila, manje ine nalema ku tukwaniwa chili bwino chikwati chi sile mweh because nayesa ku mu peleka ku church, kuma kolo still she won’t change,” Musonda said.Musonda added that beside the insults and the drinking, his wife has now forsaken most of her duties including cooking and cleaning the house which he has to do whenever he got back from his piece work.In her defense, Mporokoso, did not refuse the claims against her and said she drinks and insults her husband because she blames him for the death of her child.She said had her husband been a faithful man she was not going to have complications when giving birth that’s why is she insults him.“It’s ok lekani chikwati chisile, I’ll go back to my village otherwise, not bazipange monga ati nina yamba che moba kulibe reason, I know this man pa bantu he looks innocent but his a womanizer and I still blame him for the death of our child,” she said.In passing judgement, magistrate A.
