CB firm pours K180,000 into Covid-19 fight

MUYANI SHINJABALE writes THE COVID-19 fight yesterday got a boost in Ndola when China Wanming Machinery Manufacturing company donated K180,000 worth of materials. Among the items were forehead infrared thermometers, anti body test kits anti epidemic items and mealie meal that were handed over to Copperbelt Minister Japhen Mwakalombe. Mr WanmingGu stated that by working together, the Zambian Government and Chinese community would surely achieve ultimate victory in the prevention and control of Covid-19. He said under the strong leadership of the Zambian Government, Chinese enterprises would break through any challenges.  Mr Gu said as a Chinese origin enterprise, the company aimed at upholding the spirit of mutual help and maintaing the traditional friendship between Zambia and China while pursuing its own development.  He said Covid19 was still spreading around the World, thus epidemic prevention and control should be enhanced. Mr Gu also disclosed that the firm planned to invest K40 million to solve difficulties of repairing mining equipments based on the weakness of machinery manufacturing industry on the Copperbelt. He said once the K40 million had been injected in the project  it would create over 80 jobs.  And Mr Mwakalombe said the donation of Covid19 materials was a true reflection of the friendship between the two countries.  Mr Mwakalombe assured the donors that the items would be used for their intended purpose as well as be accounted for.  China Wanming Machinery Manufacturing Company Limited is a Kalulushi based Company that specialises in mining machinery manufacturing, mining equipment, spare parts processing and other businesses.
