We have arrested illegal land dealers- Lusambo

By SILUMESI MALUMO WE have arrested people involved in illegal land allocation because this is against the law, Lusaka Province Minister Bowman Lusambo has said. Mr Lusambo said Government would not tolerate any illegalities which hinder development of the country. The minister said, “We have been working with Lusaka City Council and we have apprehended people who have been involved in illegality.” He said yesterday on Hot FM hot seat programme that those involved in illegalities should know that Government was not sleeping and  would ensure that sanity prevailed. Mr Lusambo said Government would not spare people that were   involved in illegality with impunity. “I can assure that those who have been involved in illegal land allocation have been arrested. We shall not relent on this, we shall continue working and bring sanity in this sector,” Mr Lusambo said. Mr Lusambo said “We shall not be tired to demolish structures built on illegal land.” He advised people to acquire land through right channels so that they cannot lose their hard earned money. He also said structures which had been built on illegal land had been demolished. The minister said it was shocking that people could acquire land illegally thereby losing their money when structures were demolished.
