LUNGU ASSURES OF PEACE

By AARON CHIYANZO in Chinsali SECURITY is being enhanced to ensure that there is peace during and after the election, President Edgar Lungu has assured. President Lungu said unlike some opposition party cadres who were busy hacking innocent people, the ruling party was peaceful. He said this during a meeting with Chief Nkweto and Chief Mubanga in Chinsaliyesterday. President Lungu said the army and other defense forces were being deployed to beef up security in the country. He assured that there would be peace during and after the election next week. President Lungu condemned attacks on innocent people by UPND in Isoka on Tuesday. And Chief Nkweto has said the butchering of people by UPND cadres was an abomination in Zambia. He said the violence being perpetrated by UPND cadres was a clear signal that the party leadership had failed. He said only known losers were campaigning using violence. And Chief Kweto assured President Lungu of continued support and more votes in the coming election. He thanked the President for transforming Chinsali into a worthwhile town.
