MULENGA MUSONDA writes A TWENTY SIX years old female Farm General worker has appeared in the Choma Magistrates Court on accusations of murdering a peasant farmer and getting away with properties worth over K2,500. In this matter Prudence Mwiinga, a worker at Maombe Farms in Sibanyati area of Chief Cooma’s Chiefdom is jointly charged with another worker,  Ivon Moono 34, with aggravated robbery and murder. In Count one, the duo are accused of using force when they stole 1 Phone, 1 Blanket, a Solar Panel and 1 Bicycle from Aggrey Muloongoall valued at K2,600. In the second count Mwiinga and Moono are accused of murdering Muloongo after they stole his property. The incidents are said to have happened on 21st February 2020 in Choma and the two were apprehended on 24th April 2020. When the  two appeared for explanation of the charge before Senior Resident Magistrate Idah Mupemo, they both understood the charges read to them. After understanding the charges read to him, Moono revealed to the Court that he was badly beaten by the Police and was denied medical attention  He said this resulted in them staying longer in custody without the matter being taken to Court. Magistrate Mupemo assured him that she will look into the matter and will also order the Officer in charge at the Correctional Facility to ensure that he received medical attention.
