PETER MALASHA writes WAIT for Government recommended maize floor price and sell maize to Food Reserve Agency (FRA) to promote food security, LunteDistrict Commissioner (DC) Ronald Mulenga has said. Mr. Mulenga said there was no need for farmers to panic and advised them not to sell their maize to bogus buyers. He said in an interview that if farmers sell maize to unscrupulous buyers especially Congolese, there would be hunger. The DC said farmers should instead sell their maize to FRA in order to promote food security at district and national levels. “They are selling maize from the fields and they do not even know if they will make profit or not. It is a challenge, we are telling these farmers not to sell all their grains but reserve something for consumption. “We are telling them to wait for FRA to buy. If they sell everything they will soon start crying for relief food from Government,” he said. Mr Mulenga further appealed to farmers to sell maize produce to FRA as one way of promoting food security in the country. The Sun
