Late goal holds Nkana
FOLLOWING Napsa Stars’ draw on Saturday, Green Eagles and Nkana took to the pitch looking to redeem Zambia’s hopes in the CAF Inter-clubs Competitions. Green Eagles welcomed Coton Sport of Cameroon in Lusaka and were hoping to start their First round two-legged tie on a good note. It was however Coton Sport who dominated the match played at Nkoloma Stadium from the word go. The Cameroonian side took the lead just two minutes into the second half thanks to Felix Oukine Tcheoude strike before Tchuente Tchuente could double the lead from the spot in the 64th minute. 2-0 the match finished, Eagles will now have an uphill battle of going to beat Cotton Sport by 3 unanswered goals away in Yaoundé. In Kitwe, Nkana hosted Petro Athlético hoping to continue their unbeaten home run in CAF Competitions. Harrison Chisala put the Super League defending Champions in the lead in the 58th minute with a well taken shot from outside the box. Nkana looked like they were heading for a win but a late Belmiro Duarte Nicolau ensured that the two teams shared the spoils. The return legs are expected to be played in the next two weeks.
