ZESCO SNATCH CHAPA FROM DIMMED NAPSA STARS
By MICHAEL MIYOBA NAPSA Stars defensive midfielder, Dickson Chapa has signed a one-year loan deal to join Zambian Super League champions Zesco United after the two clubs reached an agreement over the player following his request to explore new challenges in the fourth coming 2021/2022 football season. Napsa Stars board chairman, John Chundu confirmed the development in a statement where he thanked Zesco United the being professional throughout the negotiations. Chundu is confident that Chapa will represent Zesco United with the same values that saw him succeed at now relegated Napsa Stars where he served as captain. And Zesco is confident that Chapa’s local league and Caf Confederations Cup experience will help the club as it seeks to defend the Super League and compete in the Caf Champions League.  “Zesco United is pleased to secure the signature of Dickson Chapa. We have brought a good defensive midfielder with both domestic and continental experience. “Chapa played a profound role in Napsa Stars qualification for CAF interclub football and led his team to the Group stage of the competition for the very first time in their history,” Zesco United Football Club Technical Chairman, Peter Mutale said. Meanwhile, Chapa has promised to contribute to Zesco’s growth by helping the Ndola outfit to win trophies. “This is a very organised club with a rich history. I feel that they have seen something in me which they want to use to add value to the team. I also want to ensure that I contribute to the club’s growth by winning titles,” Chapa said after he was unveiled as Zesco’s new signing. Chapa who joined Napsa Stars in 2017 from Konkola Blades becomes Zesco’s second official signing after the signing of Edward Lungu from relegated Kitwe United.
