OPPOSITION PARTIES’ FOREIGN SPONSORS WILL BE SHOCKED, SAYS PF By AARON CHIYANZO IMPERIALISTS who sponsored the opposition in the general elections in the hope of taking over the country’s mines and strategic assets will cry because their candidates will suffer a terrible defeat, a PF official Lemmy Bwalya has said. Mr Bwalya said the millions of dollars that had been secretly pumped into some opposition parties’ campaign would never be recovered. He said in an interview that revelations that imperialists were sponsoring some opposition leaders would not shake the Patriotic Front. Mr Bwalya said the ruling party had done its due diligence through infrastructure development and uplifting lives of citizens to ensure that it was voted back into office. He said international organisations that had bought the opposition campaign vehicles and given them huge sums of money thinking that they would form government after yesterday’s elections had hit a snag. Mr Bwalya urged the opposition to prepare for a devastating defeat once election results were announced. “Those who are after our mines and ended up sponsoring opposition leaders thinking that they will win elections will cry once the results are announced. “Political players from the opposition should be prepared to concede defeat and allow the Patriotic Front to continue improving the economy which is now showing positive strides towards recovery,” he said. Mr Bwalya said the achievements the PF has delivered in the last 10 years, guarantees President Edgar Lungu’s landslide victory. “The outcome of this year’s elections will reflect the indebtedness Zambians have had in President Lungu.”
