EDWARD MUMBI WARNS KAMBWILI OVER NDC
By KETRA KALUNGA CHISHIMBA Kambwili should stop dragging the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in his manoeuvres to get back to the PF because he is no longer a member of the party, says NDC-faction member Edward Mumbi. Mr. Mumbi said Mr Kambwili should stay away from NDC because his position as their interim President has ceased and the matter has been taken to court to re-emphasise that he was no longer with the party. He alleged that Mr Kambwili worked hard to frustrate the UPND Alliance because he had plans of rejoining the Patriotic Front, reports he had on several occasions denied. Mr. Edward MumbiMr Mumbi said in an interview that it was now clear that Mr Kambwili was waiting for an opportunity to go back to the PF when he lied to Zambians that the UPND Alliance agreement had gone up to 99 percent but never explained what the remaining one percent was. “As regards his crossing over to PF, this is the matter he has been refusing for some time now, he even went to an extent of frustrating the NDC alliance which started two years ago, he said it personally that the alliance agreement has gone up to 99 percent, “What is frustrating is that he never told the nation, the one percent, now this one percent would have been that he was also waiting to have an opportunity to go back to PF,” he said. He warned Mr Kambwili to stop “making noise” because he had no interest in being in the alliance with the UPND. Mr Mumbi also warned Mr. Kambwili from attacking UPND president Hakainde Hichilema over the alliance because it was not his personal decision but that of the party to form the union. “We have heard the statements which he has made which are very tribal and personal to HH which is not necessary, there is no need to attack HH, HH is not an individual in the alliance, the alliance has so many political parties and so many individuals,” he said. Mr Mumbi has since advised Mr. Kambwili to stay away from the NDC as he congratulated him for going back to the PF. “I congratulate him for going back to PF and for being bold enough to make a statement that I have joined PF, I want to work with President Lungu, he has performed his constitutional right, he can join a political party of his choice,” Mr. Mumbi said.
