STOP POLITICIZING KK DEATH, KALABA ADVISED
By NOEL IYOMBWA Harry Kalaba should not politicize the announcement of Dr Kenneth Kaunda’s death by the Secretary to Cabinet for political mileage, Zambia Republication Party president Wright Musoma has said. Mr Musoma said as the country mourns the former President, it was unfair for politicians to start politicizing his death. He was reacting to Democratic Party Leader Harry Kalaba who said the death of Dr Kaunda should have been announced by President Edgar Lungu. He said that there was nothing wrong for the Secretary to Cabinet to announce Dr Kaunda’s death. Mr Musoma alleged that such politics exhibited by Mr Kalaba are pure mediocrity. “What was wrong with the secretary to the cabinet announcing?  If Dr Lungu announced would it have added any change to the reality that we have lost a great leader and the founding father of the nation, Dr Kaunda? Sometimes I wonder why as a country we are too good at criticizing, “ he said. He said that the death of Dr Kaunda should bring politicians together to reflect on many issues that have affected the country. Mr Musoma said as the country mourns, it is important to promote coexistence in remembrance and honor of Dr   Kaunda. In a Facebook posting, Mr Kalaba alleged that the death of Dr Kaunda should have been announced by President Lungu not delegating it to a civil servant. Mr Kalaba also charged that Dr Kaunda was a great leader recognized both locally and internationally hence his death should have been announced by President Edgar Lungu and not the secretary to cabinet Dr Simon Miti.
