Manhunt for Covid-19 ‘run away’ on
LINDA SOKO TEMBO writes  POLICE in Siavonga District have launched a manhunt of a named driver who harassed, insulted and refused health personnel at the checkpoint to carry out testing and screening of passengers in the vehicle he was driving. Siavonga District Commissioner Lovemore Kanyama said the driver was coming from Chirundu going to Siavonga on May 19 when he refused to comply with the rules he found at the checkpoint.  In an interview with the Sun, Mr Kanyama said that he would not allow people who were misbehaving to enter his district from Chirundu if they did not comply with the rules of testing and screening at the checkpoint. Mr Kanyama said he had given his police officers in Siavonga a deadline to find the named driver and have him arrested.  “The driver was coming from Chirundu to Siavonga when he reached the checkpoint he was insulting and harassing government workers the police were informed and they have gone to arrest him,” he disclosed.  “We will not allow such people in our district they should take the nonsense somewhere else and not in Siavonga they should keep their nonsense in Chirundu,” he said.  Mr Kanyama said he would not allow Chirundu drivers to bring their indiscipline to Siavonga, and that there was no room for disorderliness in the district.  Mr Kanyama assured government officers operating at COVID-19 checkpoints in Siavonga that they would receive the needed protection, and that those in-disciplined Chirundu drivers would be denied entry into the district. He urged people to support government officers as they carried out their duties during the COVID-19 fight because it was everyone’s responsibility and not just for government. The Sun
