LUCY PHIRI writes A 20-YEAR-OLD man of Kafue has been sentenced to five years imprisonment for theft from motor vehicle of properties worth K8,100. This is a matter before magistrate Kawama Mwamfuli in which Manson Chabinga of Zambian compound ZC accused of stealing a laptop, mixer controller, cordless mic, cables and a laptop bag of TengoShakamanga. Witness Tengo Shakamanga of Nangogwe area told magistrate Mwamfuli that on January 1 the things he left in the car after he knocked off from work in the night where reported missing. He said around 01:00hours he left the said items in the car outside his house and went to sleep only to discover they were missing when they woke up. He then reported the matter to the police and investigations started, and after while he was told that some of the properties have been recovered. Chabinga was then apprehended and taken to the police custody for theft from a motor vehicle. Chabinga pleaded with the court to forgive him that he still wanted to go back to school. Court said stealing from the motor vehicle was a serious offence and needed to be punished. Court Jailed Chabinga to five years imprisonment with hard labour. The Sun
