THE Zambia Police Service and Public health officers in Ndola have advised Apostle James Mwale, commonly known as Yakobo Yakobo, to discharge all the 50 patients kept at the church in Ndola’s Itawa area. ZANIS reports that Copperbelt Police Commissioner Charity Katanga said the Ministry of Health and Council public health section have raised concerns to the police over the illegality of keeping patients within the church building amid the coronavirus pandemic. Apostle Yakobo Yakobo, founder of the Restoration Apostolic Pentecostal church International was yesterday ordered to close the church building after discovering that 50 patients are accommodate under the same roof with goats but in separate rooms. Ms Katanga in statement said “Yakobo Yakobo should therefore discharge all his patients until he obtains a license to practice such.” The advice was raised after police command picked the self-proclaimed prophet for questioning over a reported case of unlawful confinement of a 25-year-old, Theresa Nakazwe, of Nkwazi compound. “Catherine Moyo told Ndola mayor Amon Chisenga that her daughter, Theresa Nakazwe, was being wrongfully confined at Prophet Yakobo Yakobo church against her will,” Ms Katanga said. But during the interview Nakazwe told police she was voluntarily at the church to receive prayers over her illness of dizziness and prolonged menstruation. Ms Katanga said the allegation of unlawful confinement were therefore are not true and police have not arrested Apostle Yakobo Yakobo. -ZANIS The Sun
