NOEL IYOMBWA writes A WOMAN has survived a brutal attack by unknown people in Lusaka’s Kabangwe compound barely a week after another attack in which a lady sustained serious injuries in the same area. The unidentified woman was discovered around 07:00 hours in an unfinished wall fence near Mauzu. The woman who was found half naked is believed to have been on a business trip. She was discovered unconscious with sacks for charcoal. Police visited the scene and later rushed the victim to University Teaching Hospital for medical treatment. Meanwhile residents of the area have called on the Police to patrol the area. James Chifita said that most people are attacked elsewhere and dumped in the area. He said that lack of police presences and led to criminals to be dumping people who are attacked elsewhere. Mr. Chifita further bemoaned delay in responding to emergencies by the police adding that the police were alerted immediately the victim was discovered but only picked the victim two hours later. “We started calling Kabangwe police as early as 07 10 hours when the victim was fighting for her life but they only came to pick her around 9:00 hours. “Police should learn to respond to such incidences on time if they are to save lives,” he said. Last year two Kapiti Mposhi based women were attacked and their bodies dumped in the same area after selling charcoal in Lusaka. The two an elder woman and her daughter are believed to have hiked a private vehicle at Mandevu Bus station. The Sun
