KALINGALINGA WOMAN APPEARS FOR MENTION FOR TRICKING LENDING INSTUTITION
JOHN KOMBE WRITES@SUNZAMBIANA 32-YEAR-OLD business woman of Kalingalinga compound in Lusaka who attempted to fraudulently obtain a loan from a finance lending institution in Chongwe has appeared in Chongwe magistrate court for mention. She appeared before magistrate Kabwe Tembo.This is in a matter where Agnita Chisanga is charged with three counts; impersonating a public official contrary to Section 102 Chapter 87, uttering false documents contrary to Section 352 Chapter 87 and forgery contrary to Section 342 of the penal code Chapter 87 of the laws of Zambia.The accused denied the charge when she earlier took plea before magistrate Kabwe Tembo.Particulars of the offence are that Chisanga is alleged to have attempted to fraudulently obtain a loan from Good Fellow lending institution in Chongwe on September 29th this year.The accused is alleged to have presented herself as a public officer by using documents belonging to Grace Na-mukonda of NRC number 407830/68/1.The court heard that the accused presented the NRC and payslip of the named person before a loan officer at Good Fellow. However, the loan officer, Beatrice Mubanga who conducted a check noticed inconsistencies in the verification. She then called the police who took her for questioning. It was later discovered that the documents did not actually belong to her.The court adjourned the matter to November 11th for commencement of trial. She is remanded in custody await-ing her next appearance in court. The Sun
