Rabecca Banda writes @SunZambian A Lusaka man has been jailed 24 months for stealing assorted items from his mother’s bedroom. Appearing at the Lusaka magistrates court before magistrate Felix Kaoma was Dalisoul Phiri , 21 of Kalingalinga Compound accused of breaking into the house of Meekness Banda and stealing property worth K8,000. Facts were that on December 4 2020, Banda locked her bedroom and left for the farm. When she returned two days later, she was informed by her niece that Phiri broke into her bedroom and stole two blankets, seven bed sheets and assorted clothes. A few days later she did not go for business and when she saw Phiri coming home, she hid in the house. When Phiri entered the house, he did not know that his mother was around. She came out from hiding and caught him and  took him to Kalingalinga police station. Phiri told magistrate Kaoma that he usually goes to his mother’s house and gets things. He said he got the blankets and curtain holder only because he wanted to make use of them at his house. He pleaded for mercy from the court saying he is a pupil and wants to return to school next month. He said he made a mistake getting the items without permission from his mother. The court jailed Phiri 24 months imprisonment with hard labour. Magistrate Kaoma told Phiri  he deserves
