WATER and sanitation customers have been encouraged to use on-line platforms and mobile money for their payment of bills as a measure to prevent the spread of Covid-19.
Nkana Water and Sanitation Company (NWSC) said customers should avoid crowding the commercial utilities pay-points and instead use online platforms on mobile money to make payments.
NWSC Public Relations Officer, Agness Simwinga, however said customers wishing to access the premises should exercise high levels of hygiene and comply with preventive measures.
Ms Simwinga told the Daily Nation that the measures included washing hands with the provided water and soap at the entrance points and using hand sanitizers where water was not available.
"Apart from these measures, NWSC is also encouraging customers to make use of online platforms like Airtel or MTN mobile money for their payment of bills as a measure to prevent the spread of Covid-19,” she said.
NWSC, she said, was putting in place in all necessary measures to prevent the spread of Covid- 19 in line with Government emphasis to ensure good hygiene in all public and work places.
“NWSC wishes to adhere to these guidelines and caution members of staff and customers to ensure that they practice high standard of hygiene by washing hands thoroughly with soap and water or use the provided hand sanitizers when water is not nearby," she said
