THE postmortem results of the Chinsali toddler allegedly killed by the grandfather, shows that the girl was defiled and strangled.
The body of the girl was later dumped in nearby Bumi river in Chumbu village in Chisali District, the police have said.
Muchinga Commissioner of Police Joel Njase said John Chimfwembe, the grandfather of the juvenile had been arrested and was in police cells.
“The incident was reported on May 1, that John Chimfwembe, the grandfather of the juvenile was suspected to have defiled the minor before murdering her,” he said.
The body was retrieved from the river and deposited in the district hospital mortuary and later buried after the postmortem was conducted.
