MULENGA MUSONDA writes A 52-YEAR-OLD farmer has told the Choma Magistrates Court that he slapped the Neighbourhood Watchman who had promised to find his lost animals and had collected K750 from him. Milton Hatembo of Lunambe Village in Chief Mapanza’s Chiefdom in Choma made his revelation when he appeared before Court in a matter he is charged with Assault Occassioning Actual Bodily Harm contrary to the Laws of Zambia. Particulars of the offence are that Hatembo assaulted Admos Chibanga and thereby occasioning him actual bodily harm. When matter came up for plea before Magistrate Muyambango Munukayumbwa Friday morning, he admitted the charge against him. Court: Have you understood the charge read to you? Hatembo: I understand Court: How do you plead? Hatembo: I plead guilty Court: Did you beat the said Admos? Hatembo: Yes Court: Did he allow you to beat him? Hatembo: No Court: What did you use? Hatembo: I slapped him on his cheek Court: Why? Hatembo: He is a neighbourhood watchman so I went to collect the K750 I gave him after he promised to locate my lost animals.
