Water blues persist in Luano
PETER MALASHA writes POOR water supply has remained the most biting a community challenge in Luano, District Council chairperson Gabriel Mwamihas said. Reverend Mwami said there was community outcry over the poor water supply in the area that needed urgent attention. The council chairperson said this during full Council meeting held at Masansa on Friday. Rev. Mwami said community members were facing difficulties in accessing clean water and noted that a remedy must quickly be found. He however said management was trying the level best in correcting the situation with meagre resources. “There is an outcry for good water reticulation system in Luano and of course management has tried its level best to do what you can with limited resources,” he said. Meanwhile, Rev. Mwami has urged councillors in all the 10 wards to continue sensitising communities on the COVID-19 pandemic. Rev. Mwami said the pandemic was fatal on human life, hence the need to enhance sensitisation programmes in communities. “Encourage our communities where we are coming from to adhere to the rules of the COVID-19 because the effects are detrimental and disastrous,” Rev.Mwami said. Rev. Mwami added that the only solution was to put up preventive measures provided by the health authority and sensitising communities. The Sun
