Veselin Jelusic to focuses on building players

CITY of Lusaka Football Club Coach Veselin Jelusic says his focus is to groom players that will compete favourably at club and national team levels.The newly-appointed Jelusic says Zambia is endowed with a lot of talented players and that he will strive to strike a balance between performance and talent identification in a quest to strengthen the team.The Serbian national says he will invest in the development of young players so that Zambia can have a bigger pool of foreign based players in future.He has also hailed the Zambia National team for beating South Africa 2:1 in an international friendly game played yesterday.Jelusic has also disclosed that Chipolopolo Coach Milutin ‘Micho’ Sredojevic played a critical role in him getting the job at City of Lusaka, after making recommendations.He was speaking during his unveiling as new City of Lusaka coach in Lusaka yesterday.And City of Lusaka General Manger Justine Palmar said Jelusic has been accorded a one-year renewable contract that will be extended depending on performance.Palrmar said the club will soon announce changes to the team and technical bench.And Club Chairperson Chomba Mumba said the coach has a good pedigree and will bring value to the club.Mumba said the team is undergoing massive restructuring that will ensure the club wins promotion to the super league. – ZNBC The Sun
