Teacher pleads for late wife’s estate
MARY PHIRI writes A 40-YEAR-OLD man of Ndeke Township in Ndola has requested the court to revoke her sister in law’s order of appointment as an administrator over his late wife’s estate. Chifwembe Ng’uni wants the Kabushi Local Court to revoke Hilda Mubanga’s order of appointment as an administrator for his late wife’s estate. Ng’uni narrated that his wife died in 2016 and the family agreed that her sister Mubanga, 56, should be appointed as an administrator. Ng’uni, a teacher by profession said from the time his wife died, Mubanga had not made any follow up in collecting benefits of the late as she also used to work in the Ministry of General Education. “I want the court to revoke her appointment then appoint us jointly as administrators so that I can push for my wife’s pension, because she is too busy and cannot manage alone,” he said. In her testimony, Mubanga admitted that she was too busy and was facing challenges in finding money to facilitate for the movements involved in pushing for the funds. She further added that it was a good decision that his brother in-law had decided to be appointed as a co-administrator so that they could work together in getting the funds. Senior Magistrate Agnes Mulenga sitting with Mildred Namwizye and Evelyn Nalwizya revoked Mubanga’s appointment and told them both to come back with family members in order to appoint them both to manage the estate of the late.
