By MULENGA MUSONDATHE four men accused of being part of the gang that was gassing some people around the country have continued to appear before the Choma Magistrates Court for mention before the matter can be sent to the High Court for trial.Goodson Muleya, 22, Denmark Siamapa, 35, Bornface Munsaka, 42, all from Pemba District and Christopher Hachikwela, 44, from Choma are charged with maliciously administering poison with intent to harm contrary to section 231 of the penal code of Chapter 87 of the Laws of Zambia.Allegations are that the four with others unknown,unlawfully with intent to injure or annoy Ernest Mukukwani administered poison or noxious gas to the said Mukukwami thereby endangering his life or to cause grievous harm.The alleged incident is said to have happened on February 27 2020 in Choma.When the matter came up for mention before Magistrate Muyambango Munukayumbwa on Thursday for trial, the State informed the court that instructions to have the four committed to the High Court for trial had not been received from the Office of the Director of Public Prosecution’s.Magistrate Munukayumbwa then adjourned the matter to April 23 2020 for another mention and possible committal.The four who were not before Court had there bails extended in absentia.
