STOP FUELING HATRED, CHIEF PUTA TOLD
STOP FUELING HATRED, CHIEF PUTA TOLD SENIOR Chief Puta should help uniting the nation and not fuel hatred by declaring that he will never forgive President Edgar Lungu, Chief Chipalo of the Bemba people has said Chief Chipalo said traditional leaders should help heal the nation at this crucial time rather than cause division in the country. He was reacting to senior chief Puta of Chiengi who was quoted in one of the Zambian Daily tabloid that he would not forgive President Lungu because he was careless and did not care for the poor people in society because he defended corrupt individuals at the expense of them. Chief Puta also accused President Lungu of having incited sub-chiefs to rise against senior traditional leaders who had divergent views. But Chief Chipalo took a swipe at senior chief Puta saying, “it was irresponsible for a traditional leader to preach hatred instead of playing a key role in uniting the country”. Chief Chipalo said that traditional leaders needed to be all embracing unlike what was happening where chiefs were seen to be supporting certain politicians.  He said that the hoped that the traditional leader would in the future not take that role because dynamics changed. Chief Chipalo said that chiefs in the country needed to stay away from politics because it brought divisions in the country. BY ADRIAN MWANZA
