By JACKSON MAPAPAYIPARENTS in the North-Western Province have been warned against concealing child and sexual abuse offences against their children.North-Western Province Commissioner of police, Elias Chushi, said all cases of child and sexual abuse against children should be reported to police at an earliest stage in order to bring the culprits to book.The warning follows the arrest of 49-year-old man of Zambezi district identified as Patrick Makeche who defiled a 10 year old girl.“As police, we would like to warn parents and all guardians to stop concealing cases of child and sexual abuse against their children,” Mr Chushi said Mr Chushi explained that on July 3, this year around 11:00 hours in Chitokoloki area, the victim was enticed by the suspect to have sex with her and sustained bruises on her private parts. He said after the encounter, the victim informed her mother who decided to conceal the information but demanded for a payment for damages from the suspect.“But the suspect failed to pay for damages,” he said.Mr Chushi explained that irate parents within the area decided to report the matter police on Wednesday around 15:00 hours which led to the arrest of the suspect.
