By KETRA KALUNGA CONSTRUCTION at the National House of Prayer in Lusaka have been slowed by the heavy rains experienced in the country, says Religious Affairs and National Guidance Minister, Godridah Sumaili. Reverend Sumaili however said progress has been made on the construction site despite the workers being affected by the rains. She said in an interview that the works were progressing with support from the church and believers through the contributions made “The work is going on well with support from churches and believers, the work has been slowed by the heavy rains,” Rev Sumaili said. Last year, Task force commander, Colonel Pitson Mvula, said that works were on course and that about K30 million was needed for the construction of the substructure. This was during President Edgar Lungu’s inspection of the site last October. President Lungu had tasked the Zambia Army and Zambia National Service to expedite the construction of the National House of Prayer located in Lusaka’s Woodlands area. The Head of State laid the foundation for the construction works on October 18, 2016 during the commemoration of the national day of Prayer.
