PRESIDENT LUNGU DESERVES ANOTHER CHANCE
PATRIOTIC Front (PF) Media Director Antonio Mwanza says President Edgar Chagwa Lungu, has beaten his own record by creating more than one million jobs in the agricultural sector.  Speaking on Radio Phoenix Let the People Talk Live Programme in Lusaka yesterday, Mr Mwanza accounted for President Lungu’s developmental achievements leading to economic empowerment and job creation in the informational sector.  “President Lungu deserves another term for he has beaten his own record by creating more than one million jobs through the Farmer Input Support Programme,” Mr Mwanza said.  The PF Media Director charged that Zambia has been rated as the fourth largest maize producing nation in Africa following President Lungu’s policies.  He added that this year’s maize bumper harvest has resulted into the US dollar to drop against the Kwacha. Mr Mwanza further said that the PF government has empowered over 118,000 youths across the country and more younger people and women   are expected to enlisted for new schemes underway.  Mr Mwanza also announced that the  new Zambian Procurement Act has been crafted to give preference to all Zambians in servicing government funded contracts. President Lungu believes that only Zambians themselves should grow the economic fundamentals through such progressive development of empowering the local  business fraternity.  “This country will only be developed by ourselves and therefore the President allowed for the enactment of a Law to specifically benefit Zambians saying all the monies will remain within the country making the economy more stable and stronger,” Mr Mwanza said.  The PF Media Director disclosed that government will soon set up financial institutions to empower women and youth invest in the mining sector through the country.  He further added that the PF government has added a further one million jobs in the informal sector and another 270,000 in the civil service.  President Lungu’s administration has also beaten its own record by paving more than 15,000 Kilometres of road network around the country. The initial projection was to link Zambian road network of 8000 kilometres.  The UNIP government only achieved 9000 Kilometrs in 27 years while the MMD government only managed to pave 2000 Kilometres.   Mr Mwanza claimed that all opposition parties have abandoned their manifestos and ideologies and were now coping everything the PF government has planned to roll out.    The unprecedented achievements in the last ten years in various sectors and all provinces is unmatched and therefore President Lungu is a well-placed presidential candidate to win the August 12, general election.  Mr Mwanza said corruption is a vice that requires concerted efforts by all in society other than a Head of State.  “The President cannot fight corruption alone, it calls for all concerned citizens and institutions of governance to stem the scourge and President Lungu has set out integrity committees in the public  in the public service to curb the vice,” Mr Mwanza said. Mr Mwanza has rubbished assertions that government intends to shut down the internet next week during voting.  He pointed that the United Party for National Development (UPND) is bent on fanning ways to delegitimize the electoral process via social media.  Mr Mwanza charged that the UPND leader should stop complaining about the Public Order because he sponsored the collapse of Bill 10, which was crafted to repeal the same Law he is claiming to be a bad Law.  Hakahinde Hichilema, should stop using propaganda when denouncing government. He stopped the process of Bill 10 and crying about government being unfair today is hypocritical,” Mr Mwanza said.
