PF RUBBISHES DEFECTION CLAIMS

By GIDEON NYENDWA PATRIOTIC Front (PF) has rubbished claims by the United Party for National Development (UPND) that it has received 900 defectors from Kang’omba and Lwansase wards in Kabwe Central constituency. PF media director Antonio Mwanza said that it was not possible for the PF to lose 900 members in Kabwe to the UPND and described the report as mere propaganda. “There is no one in PF who has left to join UPND, this is just propaganda by UPND and it must be rubbished because their claims are nothing but mere speculation. PF is winning all the seats in Kabwe,” he said. Mr Mwanza said that the UPND should be telling Zambians the truth because a lot of people had been trooping from the opposition party to join the PF including Members of Parliament. “UPND should not hide their heads in the sand, they must be realistic and there are no 900 members that have left to join UPND. That is just a figment of their own imagination,” he said. Mr Mwanza was reacting to the claims by the UPND that it had received 900 defectors including all ward officials from Lwansase and Kang’omba in Kabwe. This is when the UPND Secretary General, Batuke Imenda, presented aspiring candidates in Kabwe.
