By FRANCIS CHIPALO PATRIOTIC Front (PF) Chinkuli ward candidate Clement Mbulo has appointed Saul Simukulwa as his campaign manager ahead of the August 12 General Elections. Mr Simukulwa was one of the candidates who was seeking adoption in the ward under the PF ticket but the party settled for Mr Mbulo. Speaking shortly after being unveiled as the adopted candidate to the residents on Sunday, Mr Mbulo said he saw it fit to appoint Mr Simukulwa as his campaign manager despite the latter having been a competitor prior to the adoption process. “I am actually humbled that Mr Simukulwa agreed to come and be part of this event today and I have decided to appoint him as campaign manager because of his passion for the ward and I believe that with him on board, we will achieve a lot and come out victorious in this election,” Mr. Mbulo said. And Mr. Mbulo also called on the electorates to support the adopted Chongwe Parliamentary candidate, Mr Japhen Mwakalombe and Mr Evans Mhambi who is contesting as Mayor. “Let us also support President Edgar Chagwa Lungu and all the candidates the party adopted so that we emerge victorious and continue serving the people of Zambia,” he said. And Mr. Simukulwa who is also a protocol officer for PF Chongwe Constituency said he was passionate about the ward and he would do what he could as a campaign manager for Mr. Mbulo. “We are no longer competitors now because the party made a decision and decided to adopt my young brother Mbulo so let us all support him and I am humbled that he has chosen me as his campaign manager so I will do my level best for him. Let us work in unity because we want nothing but a resounding victory for our party,” Mr Simukulwa added. Meanwhile, residents in the area, among them, traders at Katende market vowed that they had already settled for PF and were only waiting for the election date to cast their votes.
