‘NO PRESSURE’
By MICHAEL MIYOBANAPSA Stars coach Mohamed Fathi says he is not under pressure despite the “Pensioners” anchoring the 18-team MTN/FAZ Super Division with three points.Fathi said the CAF Confederations Cup envoys will bounce back from a poor run in the league. He was speaking after the team picked its second defeat of the season following a 2-1 loss to ZANACO in a mid-week nine fixture played on Wednesday at Nkoloma Stadium,Fhati however noted that he was concerned with the performance of some of his players who are failing to give their best especially in defence. The Egyptian is however confident that NAPSA Stars who have only played five games in the league and trail with four games, will improve to pick maximum points in the remaining fixtures.Fathi said the team’s target is to do well in the first round to qualify for the ABSA Cup which features the best six teams from the Super Division and the top two from the National Division one league. NAPSA’s next fixture is against Green Buffaloes and Fathi is hopeful the game against Buffaloes will present the Pensioners a turning point.“The league is still open and I’m giving myself five or six games and the team will be catching number six or seven on the table then we will keep pushing the club to qualify for the ABSA Cup because our target is to represent the club in the ABSA Cup also and we are going to catch up and finish among the top six in the first round,” Fathi said.NAPSA started the league with a 1-1 draw with Zesco United before recording the same score line with Lusaka Dynamos. The Pensioners then drew 0-0 with Young Green Eagles before suffering consecutive defeats to Buildcon and Zanaco.
