SUN SPORTS writes NKANA fans have warned the Everisto Kabila-led club executive committee not to over step its boundary, saying no amount of intimidation will stop them from cleaning the mess at the club. The fans through their national executive committee have described the dissolution of all supporters’ structures by the club executive committee as null and void. The Nkana National Supporters executive committee petitioned sponsors Mopani Copper Mines for the removal of Kabila and Charles Chakatazya as president and chief executive officer respectively of alleged mismanagement of the club, a move that prompted management to dissolve all fans associations. Last Friday the Nkana football club Executive Committee announced that it had dissolved all supporters’ committees countrywide, with immediate effect. The dissolved committees include the National Fans Committee, NkanaSupporters Trust, Nkana Supporters Bureaux and all district committees. But National Supporters executive committee chairperson Emmanuel Zulu said the Kabila executive had no legal backing to dissolve structures. Zulu said all fans structures remain operational and will continue to fight to restore sanity at the club. “The Nkana Football Club Executive Committee has no mandate and legal backing to dissolve the Nkana National Supporters Club and its affiliate bodies. “The Nkana Supporters National Executive Committee was duly elected by the fully paid up Nkana Football Club supporters drawn from various districts across the country. The National Supporters Executive Committee therefore draws its mandate from the very paid up members it represents,” he said. Zulu was shocked that the club executive committee could go ahead to make such a decision when Mopani was studying the petition. “The Nkana National Supporters Committee will not be cowed from focusing on the issues that has been raised and presented to the Chief Executive Officer of Mopani Copper Mines who are the main sponsors of the club,” “The actions of the Nkana Executive Committee Members who sat and decided to dissolve the National Supporters Executive Committee together with its affiliate organs is just an attempt to save face and put a lid on legitimate issues raised and presented to the Chief Executive Officer of Mopani,” he said. And the Copperbelt fans bureau chairperson Karim Augustine said the region will stand by the petition to remove the club executive. “We strongly ask all our members on the Copperbelt and those beyond to remain in humble tranquility as we correctly and with legal intelligence move our agenda of cleaning the ills that have haunted and shrunk the well-being, stolen the focus , eaten the glory of our mighty Kalampa,” he said in a statement. After 24 games played, Nkana are fourth on the 18-team log table with 43 points, three points behind leaders Forest Rangers. The Kitwe giants last won the league in 2013 and have since been chasing for a thirteenth title. The Sun
