Ndola council embarks on road rehabilitation
Ndola City Council (NCC) has embarked on patching of potholes on selected roads in the city.  The exercise is being undertaken in partnership with Limestone Resources Limited (formerly known as Ndola Lime).  NCC Public Relations Manager, Rebbecca Mushota said this in a statement issued to ZANIS in Ndola on Monday.  Ms Mushota explained that Limestone Resources provided 300 tonnes of waste rock and the council is providing the human resource, equipment, and 1,000 liters of fuel to patch the potholes.  She said the department of engineering has targeted roads in Kabushi, Minsundu, and Twapia areas adding that works in Kabushi and Minsundu have already commenced.  “The Ndola City Council is grateful to Limestone Resources Limited for their support to the council and the residents of Ndola. The council is also grateful to the residents of Minsundu residential area for mobilising additional fuel as the council needs to complete the exercise,” she said.  She added that the council is putting up various measures to rehabilitate roads in the city using different interventions such as contracting the private sector and undertaking certain works itself.  She further assured the public that the local authority is aware of concerns regarding dilapidated roads and it is making efforts to address the situation.  Ms Mushota said the local authority has since called for partnership with residents and stakeholders in order to expedite certain road rehabilitation works.
