JOHN KOMBE writes GOVERNMENT has contracted Nitrogen chemicals of Zambia (NCZ) to deliver and distribute 10, 000 metric tons of D. Compound to farmers in Lusaka province, Lusaka Province Agriculture Coordinating Officer (DACO), Pascal Chipasha has said. Mr. Chipasha confirmed the development when he paid a courtesy call on Chongwe district commissioner. He disclosed that NCZ would deliver distribute the inputs to Kafue, Chongwe and Lusaka districts in Lusaka province. He was glad that NCZ had shown their commitment to delivering the inputs in time by beginning the exercise early. He said that the company had since delivered 90 metric tonnes of the 350 metric tonnes to be delivered to Chongwe. Chongwe district commissioner, Mr. Robster Mwanza thanked the PACO for choosing Chongwe as the first beneficiary of the early input distribution. He stated that he was hopeful that the inputs will reach the intended beneficiaries. He said that the early input delivery was a great achievement and would further accelerate agriculture in the district. Mr. Mwanza observed that the envisaged early delivery of inputs will further help to increase agriculture output in the agriculture district. He said that the development would cheer the farmers who had had enough of the challenges of late input delivery. Meanwhile NCZ Sales and Marketing manager, Cleopatra Chanda who spoke on behalf of the Chief Executive Officer, Mr. William Mwale confirmed the development to the DC. He confirmed that government had awarded the contract to the company. He said that, the company was grateful to government for showing confidence in the company to deliver and distribute the inputs. He disclosed that the company had accelerated the production of the commodity and was certain of meeting the delivery target. He therefore assured The Sun
