My blood is Nkana says Chambeshi after being unveiled as new Nkana FC head coach.
By MICHAEL MIYOBA BARELY four days after he resigned as Kansanshi Dynamos head coach, Beston “Quick Silver” Chambeshi has declared that his blood is Nkana, a club which had fired him two years ago. Speaking after he was unveiled as the new Nkana coach, Chambeshi, whose last stint with the Kitwe giants was between June 2017 and December 2019, said returning to the club wasn’t an easy decision to make after the unceremoniously sacking two years ago. Chambeshi however noted that he believes he belongs at Nkana and he is back to help the defending Super League champions survive relegation.  “I believe and trust that I belong to this team and my blood is with Nkana so I’ve decided to come back to work with the team, the executive and to make sure that we stabilise things. “My only plan is to make sure that I motivate the boys and I’m sure I will try and push the boys to show their character. There is talent, the boys can play and the only thing I need them to show is character and the direction because in football, we have to move as a team in the same direction,” Chambeshi said. Chambeshi is confident that if the players can show character, Nkana will move away from the relegation zone. He has urged Nkana supporters to keep supporting the team and believing that they can bounce back from a losing streak which has seen them  ejecting from the CAF Confederations Cup and occupying 17th position on the Super League table with 23 points. “People know me, I’m a hard worker, I love football, I’ve played football, so we need their support, let them come on board and support the team.  “I know we have supporters who have gone down because of the way the team has been playing but we have a team all we need is support we will make sure that we go back where we belong,” said Chambeshi. Chambeshi takes over from Kelvin Kaindu who was last week sent on a three-week forced leave following the team’s losing streak in the MTN Super League. Meanwhile,  Nkana acting Chief Executive Officer Kapwepwe Mutale said the decision to bring Chambeshi back was aimed at improving the team’s performance and repositioning the club towards finishing in a respectable position at the end of the 2020/2021 MTN Super League.
