Music system lands Chongwe man in court
JOHN KOMBE Writes A 37 year old man of Chongwe has appeared in Chongwe magistrate court for breaking into a house and stealing a music system. Earnest Mwalongo, appeared before magistrate Kabwe Tembo for trial.   Particulars of the offence are that on October 20th 2019,  the accused did break into a dwelling of Mathews Tembo, 52 of Lusoke village in Chongwe. The accused was arrested on October 24th 2020 in connection with the said offence. The complainant was called to the police station and identified the stolen items which included a music mixer, 2 microphones, a wireless microphone transmitter and connection cables. A witness identified the items in court.  He also testified that the accused was taken to the scene of crime by police officers but denied the charge although he was found with the said property. The matter was adjourned to August 26 for continued trial.  The accused is on bail, but was currently serving a prison term in a different case. He questioned his continued incarceration despite being on bail. The court advised that the matter of his conviction was different and as such he could not be released before the prison term ends.
