MPs urged to woo investors
STEPHEN MWEWA writes @sunzambian A traditional leader in Kanchibiya district in Muchinga Province has challenged all parliamentarians to help traditional leaders find investors that can invest in their respective chiefdoms, in order to bring the much-needed development. Chief Chikwanda of both the Bemba and Bisa speaking people says, parliamentarians should be in the fore- front to woo investors to go and invest in chiefdoms within the constituencies they represent, if meaningful development is to be attained. Chief Chikwanda said that once investors invest in various chiefdoms throughout the country, there will be the creation of jobs for local people, in a bid to improve their lively-hood. The traditional leader has observed that lack of information among investors that the government has put in place conducive and enabling-environment for investment has been a great hindrance to attract foreign investment. Chief Chikwanda who was speaking in an interview said parliamentarians need to work hand in hand with traditional leaders and foster national development.
