Mayor pleads for Kitwe Teaching Hospital
SANFROSSA MANYINDA writes @sunzambian GOVERNMENT should commit more resources next year to improve infrastructure at Kitwe Teaching Hospital (KTH), Kitwe Mayor Christopher Kang’ombe has suggested. Mr Kang’ombe was however happy that the staff at the facility had continued to hard work despite operating under difficult conditions. The Mayor said it was encouraging to see high level commitment to duty among the staff at the hospital Mr Kan’gombe said that the members of staff did not look back or underperform despite challenges that the hospital was faced with. “Resources have been a challenge following the outbreak of the coronavirus but we are certain that Government will do something about the situation,” he said. Mr Kang’ombe said he was confidence that the hospital would continue to supplement Government’s efforts of providing quality services to the people. He added that it was also his hope that Government would commit more resources next year to help the hospital improve infrastructure and train nurses into well qualified health personnel at the nursing training school. The Mayor expressed the need for the corporate world and other organizations to assist the hospital in the provision of health care services. Meanhile, KTH Senior Medical Superintendent Abidan Chansa expressed gratitude to the Mayor and the City Council for the support rendered over the years. Dr Chansa said management and staff at the hospital would continue engaging the city council for improved services and infrastructure at the hospital.
