MULENGA MUSONDA writes THE Choma Magistrates Court has sentenced a 32 years old man to 12 months imprisonment for stealing over 30 steel poles from Food Reserve Agency. Webster Mukonka a resident of Choma’s Mwapona Township stood charged with Theft contrary to the Laws of Zambia. Particulars of the offence are that Mukonka stole 32 Steel Poles all valued at K4,800 the property of Food Reserve Agency. The Theft happened in the wee hours of June 22 in Choma district. When the matter came up for judgement before Court, Senior Resident Magistrate Idah Mupemo found the accused person guilty after she established that he got the poles fraudulently with the intentions of depriving the owner permanently. She said the fact that he was seen at the scene of crime and taking the poles on the material day was evidence enough that he had ill intentions. She sentenced Mukonka to 12 months imprisonment with hard labour with effect from his date of arrest. Mukonka was informed of his right to appeal to the High Court within 14 days if he was not happy with the judgement. The Sun
