THE Lusaka City Council (LCC) Education Service Committee has inspected some school to ascertain the preparedness of the schools as pupils report back to school on June 1.
The Committee Chairperson, Councilor Brighton Bilumba said the committee was happy that schools were doing everything they could to make their schools conducive and safe for learning under the new normal arrangement.
Speaking when he inspected some schools in Lusaka in the company of other board members Mr Bilumba expressed happiness that primary schools in the city were ready to open for examination classes.
“Some schools toured that we toured are Jacaranda, Twashuka and Libala Primary School,
“During the tour, the Committee donated some hand washing materials and disinfectants to the toured schools,” he said.
Meanwhile, Lusaka District Board Chairperson, Bright Nyirenda, said he was humbled that LCC had come on board to work with his board in ensuring that schools were ready to open next week.
Mr Nyirenda said the task of making schools ready and safe for learners in examination classes required the input of all stakeholders.
