DESPITE the Covid-19 which affected the tourist sector in Livingstone, most hotels and lodges have recorded positive results this festive season.
According to Livingstone Mayor Eugene Mapuwo, all the hotels, lodges and some guest houses in the tourist capital were fully booked.
In his remarks during a meeting with tour operators, hotel and lodge owners at Avani Hotel yesterday Mr Mapuwo said, the development was a fortune for the city.
He added that this would boost the sector as the tourism Industry had been facing a lot of challenges from the onset of the Covid-19 pandemic.
Mr Mapuwo said that there was need for tour operators, hotel and lodge owners to ensure that people visiting their facilities adhered to Covid-19 guidelines.
The Mayor requested the District Health Office to be conduct patrols and check on the adherence levels of Covid-19 guidelines during the festive season.
