KASAMA’S UNIP MAYORAL CANDIDATE PLEDGES TO IMPROVE REVENUE
By STEPHEN MWEWA to Newsed UNIP Kasama Mayoral  candidate Saviour Phiri has pledged to  transform the revenue base for the local authority, once vote into office on 12th August 2021 general election. Mr Phiri 25, says he will ensure that the local authority comes up with its own farming block and buy passenger buses that will also contribute to the increased revenue base. He said another aspect he wants to do once he assumes mayoral office,  is to ensure that the out-look of Kasama Town Centre and the municipality area is beautified by ensuring that dormant and unfinished structures are repossessed and allocated to serious developers. Mr Phiri further said his leadership will ensure that garbage collection is also prioritized in order to keep the town clean. Five candidates are vying for Kasama mayoral office.
