KAKOMA FOR ZAMBEZI WEST SEAT
By JACKSON MAPAPAYITHE Patriotic Front (PF) has adopted former UPND spokesperson, Charles Kakoma, as candidate for Zambezi West parliamentary constituency in the forthcoming August 12 general elections. Raphael Ngimbu and Christabel Ngimbu had applied on the PF ticket for the same seat Announcing the successful candidates yesterday, PF Secretary General Davies Mwila said: The central committee has settled for the newly appointed Member of the Central Committee Mr Charles Kakoma for the Zambezi West constituency.” Mr Mwila also announced that former Commerce Deputy Minister, Richard Taima, would contest the Solwezi East constituency while former ZNBC Kaonde section news anchor, Ormond Musonda, and Brighton Matoka from the Lunda section had been picked for Kasempa and Mwinilunga constituencies respectively. Current provincial party mobilisation chairperson, Enock Kapalu, has been picked for Chavuma, Davies Mbalau for Mufumbwe, Danny Chingimbu for Manyinga, Jonathan Mwendelema for Zambezi East among others. A businessman in Ikelenge, Peter Fisher, will contest Ikelenge constituency on the ruling party ticket, Sambisaya Jitanda for Solwezi East and Kennedy Sangonga for Kabompo constituency. However, Mr Mwila did not announce the candidate for the Solwezi Central seat. But according to insiders, the central committee settled for former PF provincial chairperson, Jackson Kungo, but was later removed on list shortly before the announcement was made. It is not yet clear as who the party will settle for. Meanwhile, Mr Mwila has announced the parliamentary candidates adopted for Central Province as Sydney Mushanga (Bwacha), Tutwa Ngulube (Kabwe Central), Siingwa Mbita Chrispin (Kapiri Mposhi), Davies Chisopa (Mkushi South), Christopher Chibuye (Mkushi North), Chibolela Albertina (Nangoma), Matembo Dan (Mumbwa), Tshili Thabiso Mzinga (Lufubu) and Toloko Kelvin (Mwembeshi). Others are Chanda Remember Mutale (Chitambo), Chester Kasonde (Muchinga), Hon Kabanda Maxwell (Serenje), Emmanuel Chimisa Chenda (Keembe), Martin Chowa (Chisamba), Mukosa Mulando Remmy (Katuba) and Kaimana Thomas Hendrix (Itezhi-Thezi). He also announced the parliamentary candidates adopted for Southern Province as Brave Mweetwa (Siavonga), Hakachima Kavuambu (Chikankata), Hatimba Bryden (Magoye), Moonga Rex (Mazabuka Central), Mulambo Metson (Bweengwa), Haamonga Francis (Moomba), Mungala Bbalewa (Gwembe), Hamuchenje Gerald (Pemba) and Kabanze Bright (Sinazongwe). Others are Doreen Mudenda (Mumbwa), Horebe Kafuwa (Ngabwe), Chilikwela Gilbert (Shibuyunji), Mulumba Staivous (Serenje) and Mwelwa Brian (Chitambo). He also announced the parliamentary candidates adopted for Southern Province as Brave Mweetwa (Siavonga), Hakachima Kavuambu (Chikankata), Hatimba Bryden (Magoye), Moonga Rex (Mazabuka Central), Mulambo Metson (Bweengwa), Haamonga Francis (Moomba), Mungala Bbalewa (Gwembe), Hamuchenje Gerald (Pemba) and Kabanze Bright (Sinazongwe). Others are Kelvin Chikwata (Namwala), Moola Kenneth (Choma Central), Mwaka Charity Habasune (Mbabala), Mufwambi Raymond (Kalomo Central), Paphic Munachonga (Dundumwezi), Siachongwe Simachila (Mapatizya), Namakau Muyangana Sianga (Livinstone) and Mwampole Brighton (Katombora).
