Kaindu takes charge at Nkana
NEWLY appointed Nkana FC head coach Kelvin Kaindu oversaw the delayed Week 6 derby against Kitwe United at Nkana Stadium.The former Buildcon coach has taken over from Manfred Chabinga having penned a performance-based contract to run until the end of the season.Speaking to the media after being unveiled, Kaindu said he is happy to have joined the 13-time league champions. He said he is aware that coaching Nkana comes with a lot of pressure but promised to do his best to change the fortunes of the struggling team.And Nkana football club technical chairperson Davis Mwaba said the club settled for Kaindu because of his vast experience.Meanwhile, Nkana Captain Idris Mbombo said he is happy that the club has finally appointed a coach and that the team is looking forward to working with him on and off the pitch.After thrashing Green Eagles 3-1 last Sunday in Wusakile, Kalampa will be looking to give fans yet another reason for celebration when they go head to head with old rivals Kitwe United aka “Chingalika” in the delayed Week 6 Kitwe derby match at Nkana Stadium.The Kitwe giants produced their best performance of the season so far to lift themselves off the relegation zone after succumbing to defeats against Indeni , Green Buffaloes and Forest Rangers.Kalampa and Chingalika last met in 2018 where the Wusakile Boys overcame the Buchi Boys 1-0 with Ronald Kampamba being the scorer in the first leg before the two sides toiled to a scoreless draw at Garden Park in the reverse fixture.Nkana went into the match 10 points behind log leaders Buildcon and second placed Zesco United who have 18 points respectively.Meanwhile, Chingalika were rooted at the bottom of the table with 4 points.The Buchi Boys have played 9 games without a win, having registered 5 loses and 4 draws.Ahead of this derby, Kitwe United lost 2-1 to Buildcon in Ndola on the same day that Nkana thumped Eagles 3-1.
