JUMBE SPORTS HELPS OUT TOKYO-BOUND BOXERS
By MICHAEL MIYOBA TOKYO Olympics-bound boxers have hailed Jumbe Sports for donating boxing kit worth K25, 000. Flyweight Patrick Chinyemba, Featherweight Everisto Mulenga and Middleweight Steven Zimba will represent Zambia at the Olympics. Chinyemba said the donation will motivate the boxers to scoop medals at the Olympic Games scheduled to kick off on July 21 in Tokyo. Chinyemba said the boxers are not under pressure heading to the Olympics where they will face some of the best boxers in the world. He assured Zambians that the boxing team is ready and will win medals at the Olympic Games. Jumbe Sports Manager, Misheck Jumbe is confident that the donation will inspire the boxers to shine in Japan. “We decided to donate the sports equipment to our boxers as a way to help develop sports in Zambia and we partnered with ZBF as a way to motivate our champions,” Jumbe said. He noted that Jumbe Sports being a Zambian company was committed to giving back to the community. Meanwhile, ZBF Vice President, Mashekwa Nalumango thanked Jumbe Sports for coming to the aid of the boxers. He said the support will go a long way to motivate the team expected to leave for Japan this Saturday. And ZBF General Secretary Westie Chewe is confident that the boxers will come back home with medals after camping in Botswana.
