Jere Donates to Catholic Institutions

SIMON MUNTEMBA writes LUSAKA lawyer and founder of the Matero Initiative Project, Dickson Jere has donated hand sanitizers and masks to two Catholic-run institutions in Materoconstituency in his continued effort to support fight against the COVID-19 pandemic. Speaking at Matero Boys Secondary School which is run by the Marianists Brothers of the Catholic Church, Mr Jere said the donated items were meant to supplement Governments effort in the fight against the corona virus. “The donation has been made as part of our efforts to supplement government efforts in the fight against coronavirus. We know government has limited resources to help all schools across the country hence our intervention,” Jere said. Mr Jere also commended the Matero Boys for having maintained the reputation of being a good school with a clean learning environment for many years. And school headmaster Mr Samuel Chipo thanked Mr. Jere for the gesture and said the donation will go a long way in helping the school and learners during this period of Covid-19 pandemic. “This donation will help easy pressure on the school finances. We are really grateful for this donation,” Mr Chipo said when he received the donations. The former President spokesperson later made a similar donation at the Mother Marietta Community Centre which is run by the Little Servants of Mary Immaculate in Matero which caters for the underprivileged youths and women who are trained in life saving skills such as tailoring and catering. During his second tour Mr. Jere announced that more donations will be made to the Centre through his MateroInitiative because he has been impressed with the work of the Centre especially in alleviating poverty in the constituency.
