By ANDREW MUKOMA FORMER Livingstone Deputy Mayor Fred Sikazwe and two others have been released from the Livingstone Central Correctional facility after serving their jail sentences of six months. Mr Sikazwe, the former PF district chairman, Stanley Ngoma and Patrick Makala who were councilors in the local authority were convicted by Kalomo Magistrate Ms Matakala sitting in Livingstone. The trio was convicted on March 25 this year and sentenced to six months imprisonment with hard labour after being found guilty of failure to declare interest. Speaking shortly after being released, Mr Sikazwe thanked Correctional services command for the care they rendered to them during their stay in the facility. He regretted that the atmosphere in the correctional facility is not conducive and that being in prison was not something to admire. Mr Sikazwe further thanked party officials for the support they rendered to him during the period he spent in the correctional facility. He was received by party officials led by District vice chairman Nkanya, District Youth Chairman Eddie Chomba, Constituency Youth Chairman Ikuka Muleta and other party officials.
